Pole Routine Getting Stale? Here's How To Shake Things Up A Bit

We all fall into ruts from time to time of the same routine day after day, week after week. Feeling stuck in a pole rut? Try these small tweaks to snap out of it and start seeing fun results.

Take class from a different instructor

We all have our favorites but we can become very dependent on knowing that instructors style, what they teach and how they teach. You love power moves? Try a class where the teacher is known for all the pole splits and back bendy flexy moves! Learning from a different instructor could help you get moves you have been working on for months but just hearing them explain it differently, it could unlock something in you that you didnt know you had!

Do the entire class on your “Bad Side”

Also known as dying a slow death! Taking class or training on your own and committing to doing the side you dont normally train is risky business but it will feel like you are in a whole new body. Not only are you challenging your body but your brain as well!

Train on a different pole than you are used to

Sometimes just moving from your “favorite pole” to a different pole in the studio can give you an entirely different experience! We are creatures of habit and love what we love and say things like “I just learn better on this pole” …Friend cut it out!!!! You can move to the front pole next to the instructor and you will be just fine!

Freestyle to different music

I get it. We like what we like because we know it makes us feel good and look good. But switching up the playlist you might discover that you body wants to move differently, hit different beats and moving on a different plane or level!

Try a new studio

Most of us have our home studio that we know and love BUT every now and then, it doesn't hurt to see what else is out there.  You might find by going to a different studio they are doing tricks and flows that you never thought you could do!

Treat yourself to a new pole outfit

When is the last time you bought yourself a new pair of pole shorts or heels? Rewarding yourself with  a new lil pole fit can give you the boost of confidence you need to get out of the funk and back to feeling like yourself again as well as encourage you to stay motivated to keep showing up!

Give yourself a deadline

Maybe you are going to do a showcase or a competition or even try to post your pole videos more on IG for a whole month. Committing to doing a performance in the near future will help push you to getting your ish together so you can look fly on stage and it will also force you to train more, listen to music so you can decide what you are performing to and also help you come up with creative flows to put in your piece.

Remember, breaking out of a rut can be as simple as making a few small changes to your routine. Whether it's trying a class from a different instructor, embracing your "bad side," or treating yourself to a new outfit, these tweaks can rebirth your passion and keep you motivated. Keep exploring, keep experimenting, and most importantly, keep having fun with your pole journey.
