Hosting Your Own Pole Event

So you are thinking of hosting your own pole event but not too sure of what to do first! First off , congrats! Hosting events is a big deal and can be a very exciting experience IF you have everything in place.  With 9 years of planning I have grown A LOT and learned so much from doing events, hosting retreats, and putting on shows.

Here are a  few things I have picked up along the way to help me throw successful events!

Hosting Your Own Pole Event

1. Decide what you want to host.

Are you having a showcase, retreat, event?

2. Give yourself more time than you think.

Before I announce anything, chances are I have been in the trenches planning it for probably over a year. T

3. Create a budget and know how much it will cost.

Always allot for more expenses than you think. Friends, DO NOT announce anything and put tickets on sale unless you know how much everything cost. Include everything from Studio rental times to pen and paper. It is always the little extra things that push your budget to the max.  Give your self a small cushion

4. Get some people to help you out.

You cannot do it alone! Build a team that wants to volunteer their time and have meetings with them to discuss your vision. Find the places they fit in to help. Just because it is your friend doesn’t mean they are good are planning.

5.  Create buzz around it.

Utilize your social media to put up polls, ask your audience what they want.

6. Launch it!

If it is something like a retreat that requires travel, give people 6-9 months to prep, if it is a showcase or event and local announce it at least 6 weeks out. Most people buy on the first day and by 24/48 hrs before the event.

7. Keep pushing it!

Just because you announce it once on your social media or send one email does not mean people will see it. You have to announce at least 4-6 times in the first week of launching to reach your audience and also show people you are serious about this event you worked hard to put on!

8. Be prepared for just about anything.

Everything that you can imagine bad to happen at a pole event has just about happened to me.

Remember, event planning is an art that combines creativity, organization, and a dash of flexibility. Embrace the process, enjoy the journey, and keep creating unforgettable moments that leave your attendees eagerly anticipating your next event!

Now, go out there and rock your event planning!
