5 Ways To Track Your Pole Journey Progress in 2022
Whether you are tracking your pole progress or other life goals, having systems in place is important to be effective! We always want to know we are getting stronger or more flexible but have no way of knowing! Check out these 5 great ways to track your Pole progress!
Take Pictures Of Your Pole Progress!
Taking pictures is one of the best ways to see where you are in your progress. By taking photos you can accurately see your body physically changing and gaining more muscles as well as how much your flexibility has increased!
Video Yourself Pole Dancing
Video footage is the Tell tale sign to show how you are improving! A lot of times we think our bodies are doing one thing in certain moves and floor work but when we see videos of ourselves we are often saying things like “hold up, why is my leg doing (insert word)!”
Give Yourself Smaller Monthly Pole Goals
Saying you want to get a shoulder mount in one month but you do not have a solid invert is unattainable and can leave you feeling defeated. Giving yourself small goals to get to the end result is a healthier way of keeping up with where you are in your pole journey. Instead of wishing for a shoulder mount, begin with improving your pole crunches and basic inverts and then working on shoulder dismounts to the floor. You will build the strength to get to the shoulder mount because you are consistently preparing your body for the end goal!
Pump Some Iron
Adding weight lifting into your pole workout routine is beneficial and can help prevent injuries. Pole dancing is known for causing shoulder and back injuries due to the repetition of the same moves. Incorporating weights will enhance your muscular endurance so that you are able to lift yourself off the ground, be sure that both arms are equally getting in a workout and reduce injury!
Write it down in a Pole Journal
If you find it useful to write things down, then keep a journal to measure your progress. You can make it fun and fancy by drawing stick figure pole dancers, having markers and stickers for some flare and color and adding gold stars every time you ail a trick! Get Creative!
